Date: December 05, 2008 11:55AM "raw food" is an awfully general term; food can't be linked to causing nor curing any disease/problem per say; it's all in what the body gets on a smaller nutrient scale and how it deals with what it's receiving. So you see no one should tell you, "oh yeah, all your problems will disappear if you just stop cooking your food." it sounds silly and it is sillllyyy Re: Calcified glands...

Date: December 05, 2008 05:01PM What is the cause of the calcification? And what are the glands implicated? Is this a matter of detoxification? Of limiting/boosting nutrients to relieve a condition? Lots of variables, huh? Re: Calcified glands...

Date: December 05, 2008 06:22PM Body parts get calcified because one's diet is acidic, and calcium is leached from the bones to neutralize the acidity. The resulting calcium salts are deposited throughout the body, until some time where the body can clean up the mess.
Eating an alkalizing diet like a low fat raw vegan diet can allow the body to heal itself by reducing the housecleaning burden on the body as a result of diet. But its the body that heals itself, the raw vegan diet provides less burden than a Standard American Diet would. So after some time, when the body has accumulated sufficient energy, it will clean up the calcium deposits throughout the body. But this also assumes the person eating the more healthful diet is also providing the other conditions for health, like getting enough rest and sleep, getting exercise, reducing stresss & worry, etc. A healthful diet by itself it not enough to guarantee good health.
