What do you think of nuts on a raw food diet? Re: Nuts

Date: December 17, 2008 05:09PM No, it doesn't look like it...check these out:
[www.webmd.com] [dermatology.about.com] It's hard to find raw nuts or nut butter anymore. I consume some nut butter daily, probably too much! For me it works, but I don't digest well if I have too much or eat a meal based on nuts. Re: Nuts

Date: December 17, 2008 05:26PM Swimmer, that article on psoriasis points towards to an auto-immune reaction. This is exactly what happens in alergies, the food provokes an auto immune response. Re: Nuts

Date: December 17, 2008 05:50PM Yes, psoriasis can be a symptom of a nut allergy, although it can be caused by a fungus. You will know if it gets progressively worse upon further nut consumption. Don't give yourself anaphylaxis! Re: Nuts

Date: December 19, 2008 09:48PM I do better with them in moderation. Even ch**se & m*** (free range of course) digest better than nuts as do grains (except wheat). Eating just fruit & vegetables is not going to be satisfying for most people though. I'd say eating 70% raw fruits & vegetables with 30% cooked whole foods is probably better than eating 50% fruit + veg & 50% nuts. Some people are lucky and can manage to do nuts in moderation. For me it's challenging. Re: Nuts

Date: December 21, 2008 12:50PM the cheese and milk would digest better for certain people, if the person was not lacking in the digestive enzyme; also the products would probably have to be raw to digest better then nuts, so they practically "digest themselves" haha Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
