a good way to eat persimmons

I also love persimmons. Boy o boy. Here in South Korea there are many varieties. Many soft and many hard. Even the ones that most people eat hard, I like to let get really soft, then devour them. They're so much sweeter this way. I've heard that many people in India will take a ripe mango and knead it until it's juicy inside. Then they'll make a small hole in the peel and suck out the juice. I don't knead the persimmons. I just let them soften on their own. Then I take off the top, or suck on the skin to make a hole, then suck out the loveliness. But, like with the hachiya persimmons, if I eat too many I get constipated. Special. This way is not compatible with Zen practice. This way IS Zen practice. - Dr. Doug Graham Nothing whatsoever should be attached to. - Buddha Re: a good way to eat persimmons

Date: December 21, 2008 01:24PM That's strange, I never get constipated if I eat too many persimmons (and I do), for me they have the opposite effect lol! Anyway, the way I like to eat them is to put them in blender with a dash of cinnamon and make persimmon pudding-it's sooo tasty! And you can vary the consistency-for example if you don't want your pudding to be too watery just put one or two unripe persimmons (the ones that make your mouth pucker) along with the really ripe ones and your pudding will be thicker without making your mouth pucker. Easy peasy Enjoy your persimmons, they'll be gone soon. Re: a good way to eat persimmons

Date: December 21, 2008 04:36PM Great idea, Troy! Thanks. I find cutting the skin off kind of a pain sometimes. My only complaint about persimmons: I wish they were BIGGER. At $1.99 ea., I wish they were grapefruit size. Sharrhan: [www.facebook.com] Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
