What is your opinion about hot cayenne powers/fresh janopeno(?)peppers? In my reading, I find some “experts” claim that they are the best of herbs while others say that they are very injurious to the body because they cause inflammation. What do you say? Thanks for answering.

Hot peppers are associated with increased cancer of the esophagus.

I can't find much evidence of increased risk for other gi-tract cancers.

I still eat them, sparingly they can be fab in salsas. But not too much,

Spices that burn skin on contact (chili peppers, ginger, garlic, etc.) will irritate internal organs and destroy good bacteria as well as bad in the intestinal tract.

They are forbidden on the Gerson anti-cancer diet.

Best used in moderation IMO.

I find that hot peppers are very delicious and beneficial. The mainstay of the Korean diet is based on pepper via Kimchee.

Of course, if one has stomach problems, it would be advisable to heal the stomach first before introducing hot peppers as that could irritate the situation.

Cayenne can be used medicinally to stop bleeding and Capsicum has alot of healing properties. Do a search on the internet and see for yourself.

We grow our own and make blends with other peppers. I find them immensely helpful in relieving cold symptoms. I drink a warm MC drink with agave and cayenne and feel much better immediately.
