Date: March 08, 2009 04:42PM Hi, my husband and I are starting raw food, maybe not 100 % yet but he is diabetic and I was wondering if I should give him any fruit to start. I know we can cure it with raw food but I don't want his blood sugar to go up at first.
They gave him some stupid meds for it and I will get him off of them, we have been doing lots of veggies and a little meat.He has to have it down by the 18th of march for a test. Any one have any ideas how to start, I have some recipes but they have alot of fruit in them Thanks Pam Re: Starting raw food and diabetics

You may want to consider eliminating the meat because of the type of fats in the meat. A recent thread on this forum tittled "Oil coating the surface of blood sugar molecules and insulin" discuses fats. Here is the link: [www.rawfoodsupport.com] Re: Starting raw food and diabetics

Diabetics can have fruit, but it is safest to consume it within an all-raw, low-fat vegan diet. Dr Doug Graham ('80/10/10 Diet') has worked with hundreds of diabetics (assuming your husband's is Type II - Type I is a little different, although he has worked with a Type 1 who has been successful on a high-fruit diet). I suggest you also check out 'The Movement to Reverse Diabetes Naturally' site here: [www.rdnmovement.com] And you may be interested in a little I've written recently on fruit and diabetes here: www.debbietookrawforlife.blogspot.com Best wishes! Finally, someone spreading information I can use instead of the scare tactics and superfood peddling that has been plaguing the raw food movement as of late. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
