Fred Bisci book, Perhaps good for beginners?

Well I was curious what kind of book Fred Bisci would have so I got it as a birthday gift for myself. I expected a thick book chuck full of loads of information that would bennifitt me on my raw journey and was dissapointed the book was so thin. It is hard bound and beautiful to look at however lacks the depth I needed. Fred Bisci appears to be a very knowledgable Doctor who has done a lot towards nutrition in his years however he kept his words very simple, in many areas I was left wishing he would have explained more in depth. He stressed food combineing and gives a clear picture of how to go about transitioning to eating raw foods. This book would be an excellant book to give friends or family who are questioning the raw diet or curious about becomming raw.

I find Fred's book one of the top health books I'v ever read. Fred explains many books are filled with info that is just to fluff the book. He gets right to the point and I think everyone can learn. If you are eating a raw food diet for many years or just new to it get this book. He gives a diet in the back of the book for people making the transition to a raw diet but also an advanced diet for people who have been eating this way for many years. The reason why the book is so small is because they type is super small. I just found out on the next edition they are going to use normal size type and the book comes out to 160 pages. Not a little book.

Pam i was dissapointed in ths book also, given the man has so much knowledge to pass it was like reading a flyer in the local phone book, one comes away with too many questions.

Paul increasing the text size doesnt make up for the lack of in depth content winking smiley

I like the "fluff" that was in tanya Zavastas book and Victoria Boutenkos, Those books really enspired me.
Really I am use to reading books that have so much more substance like "the china study" or any of the Ann Wigmore, gabrial cousins, brenden braizer or carol alt books. If those books have "fluff" then that is what I like in a book.
Whith Freds book I was left feeling as if I just went to the doctors office and had a 2 minute explaination of what to do for my health and scooted out the door.
I had a choice of getting the new Tanya Zavasta book or Fred Bisci's I am left wishing I got Tanyas book.

On the flip side though, This book would be one I would give to someone who is raw curious, It is so quick and easy to read.

Has Tonya Zavasta come out with a new book?
As far as I know, "Quantum Eating" is her latest. It was
published in '07.
I was rather disappointed in Victoria Boutenko's "Green
for Life". Except for the section on Chimpanzee behavior,
it left me wanting more. In fact, I was thinking I could do
as well. I wonder if a book on Wheatgrass and Carrot juicing
would sell?
I haven't looked at the books by Fred Bisci or Paul Nison. I
wish others would 'chime' in. I see Jodi let it all
hang-out, as she usually does....WY

Yes, he smiled like a little boy as he drank
Coconut Water through a straw. I wonder what they did with
all the shells? I understand they harvested over 60 Coconuts.

I don't want to seem mean spirited about the book. I really liked the coconut hunting vid as well, Fred seems like a really infectious guy, One of those special people who are true straight shooters so to speak. Can't find those kind of people to oftain.
The book has a lot of good guidlines for people who want to make a change in their diet and I really think the book would be excellent for real new poeple wanting to make those changes.

Yes wy, tanya has a new book called Raw food hot yoga check it out on her web page [www.beautifulonraw.com]

Thanks, Pam, I'm going to order one. I Love
Tonya Zavasta, but she uses something on her face that
makes it shine. I think Natural is best, don't you?...WY

I respect both of you, but I'd like a third
opinion. I think she's using a cream of some sort on her
face. Does anyone agree with me?....WY

I agree, although I've never seen her in person.
Here's a video for those here who may not know her.
I'm ordering her new book "Raw Foods and Hot Yoga" (due out
4/25/09). Her journey with Yoga is an interesting story....WY

I'm interested in getting one of her books. They seem to be ludicrously expensive in the uk. one of them on Amazon was £139 when i last checked. I need to keep looking; every now and then one gets lucky. Can you recomend one of her books as being better than the others?

I've only read "Quantum Eating", but don't see how
any of her other books could be better. QE is written on a more
advanced level, but I think everyone here is ready. I'm ordering her
new book "Raw Foods and Hot Yoga", due out at the end of April,
this year. It promises to be a new approach to Raw Foods, as Quantum
Eating was. Calorie Restriction has been around for hundreds of years,
but no one presents it the way Tonya does.
If anyone needs some inspiration, here's a video taken off her
website....WY

I bought Quantum Eating few months ago. It is one of the best book I read on raw food and raw life. Tonya really is sincere, eager to share what she lives and of course beautiful

I look forward to read her new book.

A lot of writings from well-known gurus don't ring true to me. Something always sound too "polished", like thet would "pretend" something. I didn't get that feeling with QE. Tonya wrtites from her heart and it shows.

OT, sorry, but just to say I use Tonya's cream and can recommend it. It has a wonderful consistency - very light - and it smells amazing.

I also think she is the most wonderful writer (informative, thoughtful, and very entertaining!).

The problem I have with her creams, and she even
mentions it in her literature, is something must be added to
prevent the natural ingredients from going Rancid.
There's nothing like rubbing the face, and skin, with fresh
Carrot Juice, and Wheatgrass Juice. Try it for the 'Glow'....WY

Me too, I have problems with the creams idea it is contrary to the tenets of her teachings. Cucumber, carrots, wheatgrass, lemon, all are good for rubbing the face.
