Date: April 06, 2009 12:56AM dried frigs, and dried mulberries / prunes have been somthing Ive been eating a lot of..
Are these fruits irritating to a sensitive bowel/intestines? maybe take a few days away from eating them? I tend to eat quite a bit of them lately.. What are you opinions / experiences with these dried fruit? Always can someone answer my question on digestion time? Ive been categorizing them as a sweet fruits.. so I give them about 45minutes before I drink my carrot juice etc. etc. does this sound about right? or should I give them more time? Or eat as mono meals? I do mix these with bananas or mangos, could that be possibly why I seem to be experiencing bloating or faltulance again? :\ Im kind of concerned.. Im almost completely off my medicine for my ulcerative colitis, and Im scared that my symptoms are going to come back! Re: dried fruit, CONCERNED..

Date: April 06, 2009 07:47AM I eat very few dried fruits. They tend to give me amazing gas if i eat more than 3 - 4 pieces. I eat that amount maybe once a week.
I would think digestion time is much longer than fresh fruit. They are concentrated with little water left in them - your digestion has a much bigger job to do. With your history i would go very carefuuly with them. Re: dried fruit, CONCERNED..

Date: April 06, 2009 11:30AM Some people react badly to processed foods...including dried or dehydrated foods. I would put most dried foods more in line with vegetables in terms of digestion time. At least 1-2 hours. Just my experience.

Date: April 06, 2009 09:41PM Are you soaking them before eating? The only fruits I can eat dry is figs (which I soak) and dates which I don't always. Re: dried fruit, CONCERNED..

Date: April 06, 2009 10:31PM I have not been soaking them, you think I should try soaking the figs?
Ive been noticing if I massage my abdomen it helps me relieve gas, and pass bowels.. I hate the bloating I get, and Im quite confused as to why.. I eat a lot of bananas, mangos, dried figs and mullberries. I dont know if it could be the avocado.. because I dont eat them everyday.. and when I do I eat them with a big salad. Date: April 06, 2009 11:32PM I have dried fruit (Hunza Apricots and Calimyrna Figs)
in my Green Smoothies....always diluted with water, and with Greens. I think the trouble comes from eating dried fruit 'as is'.....it's too much Sugar....WY Re: dried fruit, CONCERNED..
