What was your food for today?
Date: June 15, 2013 03:25AM

Breakfast
* 3 glasses (24 oz/750ml) of ryegrass, fenugreek sprout and pea shoot sprout juice
* 4 apples (25 mins after green juice)

Lunch
* glass of kelp juice (three large teaspoons)
* glass of AFA blue- green algae (1.5 tablespoons)
* 3 glasses of sprouted chia seed and sprouted sesame seed milk mixed togeather (25 second blend)

Makes me feel on cloud 10 all day. The juices in the morning set up the day and are the most important.

The finest foods the Earth can possibly provide.

I would be interested in other people's meals too, so please let us know what you are eating today with each meal.

Hold cow, that's a lot of food.

Your diet is going great. Becoming a full time sproutarian takes time to adjust and lots of work.Growing greens during the winter outside it a big task...workload quadruples + there are the nuts to sprout.

I've done up to 32 oz a day of jar greens, it's hard work. l prefer to do most greens on soil (saves time and they grow far better) and am now growing large trays of fenugreek each day on soil and will be doing chia on soil within the coming week. So a tray of ryegrass a day, a tray of chia greens per day, a tray of pea shoots per day, a tray of fenugreek per day and a large jar of brocolli sprouts per day...so at least 1,300 ml of juice and possibly 1,500 ml (50 0z).

l always juice like crazy during the cooler months because during two months in summer l can't grow any microgreens and am forced to do jar sprouts of alfalfa, clover and brocolli and rarely am able to exceed 750ml (24 oz) for the day. No weeds available during summer to help me out either.l need to build up my reserves during winter by juicing lots of powerful greens. l just wanna drink that chia grass juice until it's coming out of my ears.

Dinner
* 400 ml (11 - 12 oz) of fenugreek juice (l should have included some more grass juice but l didn't have enough to finish the job properly tonight lol).
* green algae (chlorella)
* 2 large cups of sprouted bird seed milk (l know l shouldn't be blending, but no-one is perfect)
* a large plate of lentil sprouts.

Yep, it works really well.

Storm....kelp juice is just powdered kelp mixed in water with a spoon.

What?! Making the smoothie and clean-up took like 10 min. I work a full-time job, exercise 1-2 hours a day, get plenty of rest, time for the beach and fun stuff. So I don't find myself short on time. smiling smiley I have eaten this way for 4 years or so. Been vegan for 10.5, raw for 5, higher fat the first year. smiling smiley
I drink the smoothie at the 5-min. breaks I have for work or while driving to get there or while walking outside to get fresh air. I am surprised, I think it's quick to drink a smoothie or peel a banana. Just me.

Ah yeah, you drink the food and not eat it. Fair enough. Do you like your greens, or do you tolerate them because you have to? It must be hard eating all that fruit and thenm having the greens, no?

Hey. Just for the smoothies. At nighttime and when I eat chopped fruit, I chew. :p I love greens. They are some of my favorite foods. kale, collards, chard, spinach, romaine.....spring mix. I'll eat them plain. grinning smiley Which ones do you like? or do you only do sprouts?

Never do any vegetables and haven't in years. l only do weeds, grasses and sprouted greens.
Just finished a 900 ml (29 oz) sprout juice using grass, fenugreek sprouts and pea shoots. Might even juice a few buckets of weeds later on. l always try to juice in no larger than 8 oz amounts (250 ml).
...same goes with blending...only small amounts at a time. And l always chew my juice and swish it around in my mouth like no-bodies business.

lt's great eating healthy food, especially having heaps of greens.

Pea shoot greens and ryegrass, because a day is NEVER complete without a freshly squeezed grass juice.

No weeds available during summer to help me out either.

This is something I've never gotten. Where I live all the weeds come up in spring and summer and the only weed to survive during the winter is garlic mustard (very hardy). How can you have no weeds in summer???

Quote

So are the weeds palatable/tasty to you?

I LOVE my weeds. I imagine if you are used to eating mainly fruit you wouldn't be able to handle weed juice or the strong sprout juices, but if you stick to the really hardcore foods like sprouts and weed juices your tastebuds quickly change and they become very enjoyable.

Yes. The taste buds are different on the sproutarian diet. Most folks wouldn't like the strong tastes, but taste buds of sproutarians handle them no problems.

In my area all the nice juicey weeds dry up in the summer.

Did the weeds take some getting used to? I like alfalfa sprouts fine but other sprouts aren't palatable to me. I feel like from the moment I've had, for exapmle, an apple, a mango, kale, romaine, I have enjoyed it. I'm not interested in going sproutarian, I'm jsut asking. Probably same as you are asking me. smiling smiley

Sproutman, what do you do if you run out of weeds and grasses? What's the next best food chocie for you?

Today I have had 24 oz. grapefruit-spinach juice
Smoothie with 4 cups blueberries, one apple, 6 bananas
Banana whip with cinnamon, 4 dates, one pear, 6 bananas

I have some heirloom tomatoes (2 lbs.) for later and probably some romaine smiling smiley)) I can't wait!

l never do run out. l always make sure l plan ahead so l always have greens growing, + l buy HUGE loads of seeds in bulk to make sure l have enough during seed shortages.

l might buy 100kg of peas, 10 kg of alfalfa, 25kg of rye etc.

l am also allowed to go into my neighbours yard and weed his garden any time l want. He has some great dandelion at the moment.

------------
Had a smashing start to the day this morning. Had all the most potent green drinks possible...so strong that normal folks would vomit just by smelling it in the room. l had:
Three 8 oz glasses of:
* ryegrass juice
* broccoli sprout juice
* Pea shoot green juice

the Rye and grass mixed togeather made me fly to the moon and back. INCREDIBLE stuff!!!!! Pure rocket fuel!!!

Soon the chia grass will be ready - the perfect way to get a proper balance of omega 3's in the diet. Walnuts won't do it, neither will flax oil. When you drink chia grass juice, magic things begin to happen.

If you aren't drinking grass juice most days, you are NOT on the program. If you don't juice a minimum of 24 oz of sprout juice each day, you are NOT on the program. This should be the central core of any diet in this day and age.

Viktoras Kulvinskas spoke about a man who lived on nothing but wheat sprouts and wheatgrass juice for 60 years, and he was strong and vibrant. We are so ruled by food these days, but l prefer to be like the bloke who ate wheat sprouts for 60 years...l prefer to eat very plain, because that's where the real health comes from. It's best to adjust and move to higher levels and just view food as fuel...preferably rocket fuel lol. If you veiw food as a feast there is only so high you can go. Learn to adjust and eat plain boring meals, but makes those meals extremely potent powerful meals. Be like a peasant...eat little, don't cook it, and eat plain meals. l see myself like a peasant - l eat plain meals and l work hard for my food.

Sunflower greens are nice in juice. Buckwheat lettuce too but in small quantities, it's slimy and can really gum a juicer up (single auger or twin gear, doesn't work in centrifical juicers very well).

Today I've had a pear, some green grapes, almonds and some herbal tea. I confess to coffee this morning. Our local shop is closing down so we've been going in the mornings to support her and say goodbye. I could have tea but the coffee ritual is kind of nice. Friday is the last day though, I don't make coffee at home and there isn't another place around that makes a decent cup so buh-bye bad habit, lol.

One thing I had this morning was a nectarine. Actually more than one. The thing that bugs me about them is that when they are good they are heavenly but when they suck they are horrific. And all you can do to gauge their okayness is to feel if they have any give but even if they do, they can be gummy and blah when you eat them. sad smiley

Yes, corn grass is good, but l haven't been able to sprout it for a yeras because the seed isn't so good these days. Lots of poor seeds in Australia.

Here is 8 day sprouted chia - still light green and no proper lilly pads yet.

11 day old chia. Almost ready but still needs those beautiful lilly pads and deep rich green to develop. The mosr ebautiful sprout of all.

Here is 14 day old sprouted chia ready for juicing - rich green with lilly pads in all their glory.

Imo there would be no oxalic acid to collect in the soak water like with ordinary grey unsprouted chia either, + much more available calcium, zinc, fatty acids, B vitamins etc. It's the ultimate way to consume chia.

you won't be sorry.

Started off the early morning by weeding my neighbours garden where l picked thistles weeds, dandelion and sorrel weeds. l then had this with some broccoli sprout and pea shoot juice. Three big glasses in all. Most of this mornings juice was weeds.

The weed wonders:

Lunch will be a sesame sprout treat with dulse and various blue-green and green algaes.

Tonight will be a big night on the bird seed sprouts.

I have lived in my current location for over 4 years and haven't sprouted a thing yet! I don't know why since I have so much more counter space than the last apt. You are inspiring me to pick it up again because I find sprouted lentils to be very tasty. Have you ever used French lentils? They are smaller and I prefer them in soup.

Have you ever used French lentils?

That's all l use. They have a much superior fiber than vegetables when they are sprouted in the dark - sofy fiber from baby plants that is easy to chew....far better than hard coarse fiber from adult plants like common vegetables, and doesn't irritate the linings of the intestines like the effect high raw vegetable consumption has been shown to have on human beings over a period of years.

l eat a lot of lentils over the winter, and now l am really bumping up the millet consumption and really enjoying the effect. Millet is good for energy and building muscle - perfect for a raw food diet.
