Date: April 19, 2009 04:14PM I've bought Raw Cashews in past years from various
suppliers. I was always disappointed (too old), and finally gave up. Nuts, in general, are not a good food for the serious Raw Foodist...WY Re: Where to buy RAW cashew?

Date: April 19, 2009 05:48PM Nuts, in general, are among the best foods for the serious Raw Foodist.
They should be eaten every day! I eat about one handful of nuts every day. I purchase raw cashews from Whole Foods. Don't purchase "raw" cashews from a supermarket like Safeway or Costco, they aren't raw. My favorite place to purchase cashews on-line is from David Wolfe: [www.jdoqocy.com] Re: Where to buy RAW cashew?

Nuts are the worst food for that; Juice being the easiest. David Wolfe's Raw Cashews was one of the sources I was disappointed with, plus they're pricey....WY Re: Where to buy RAW cashew?

Date: April 19, 2009 08:18PM Hi Wheatgrass Yogi,
When I first started out eating raw, I had that problem. I would put a spoonful of almond butter on a stick of celery. It is sooooo good! One spoonful led to two, then before I knew it, I had eaten half the jar! Now I am able to limit myself to one or two handfuls of nuts a day. I usually eat two brazil nuts, a few almonds, a couple pecans and walnuts, maybe hazelnuts or cashews. Brazil nuts and almonds are my staples. I like to culture them into cheese, something I learned from Ann Wigmore, Kulvinskas, and Rhio. Blend up the nuts with a little water and good bacteria, and let it sit at room temperature for a few hours. The good bacteria pre-digests the nuts, so the nuts are now easy to digest! I recently purchased some "raw" cashews from Trader Joe's and they were disgusting. They had spots all over them, and they were not raw. I ended up throwing out the bag. It looked like they had some kind of aflatoxin mold growing on them. Wolfe's cashews don't have any brown spots and no aflatoxin. Re: Where to buy RAW cashew?

In the past I had a couple of Walnuts, or Brazils, in Green Smoothies, but got away from it....WY Re: Where to buy RAW cashew?

Date: April 20, 2009 03:18PM I always get real raw cashews from dimondhealth.com. they have 2 sources they get it from. have to buy in bulk, but i find its worth it 'cause elsewhere its so expensive. get unpasteurized almonds too from there. good quality and customer service. i keep them in the freezer.
wholefoods normally doesnt have raw nuts. gotta contact the suppliers to make sure but i think only for the easier to find nuts like walnuts. Re: Where to buy RAW cashew?

Date: April 22, 2009 03:54AM Me too, DimondHealth. Haven't really found other sources for the cashews. David Wolfe is way too expensive for the same thing. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
