Raw Distance Running

Date: July 24, 2006 07:55PM Any raw foodists out there who also like to do distance running? I'm really not into marathon distance any more but between 5-10 miles. How do you fuel yourself? I don't like eating fruit for it spaces me out. Is there anyone out there that is a distance athelete on the Wigmore/Clements/Cousens raw diet? What do you eat before a run to gain energy?

Date: July 24, 2006 09:50PM My experience:
-I used to run every day.....3-5 miles.....to help control my weight. After being all raw for a number of years....I found this level of intensity to be unnecessary to feel great...or control my weight....or to maintain good conditioning. -Now: I've eaten nothing but fruit for the past few years (after a very gradual 2-5 year transition). It's just like before....it takes a week or two to build up good wind.....and muscle endurance.......but now I have less fatigue and more energy - for sure! And I only feel the need to run 1-2 miles a day. -Just my experience. -David Mason Re: Raw Distance Running

Date: July 25, 2006 12:56AM Funny you say that.. I'm noticing I have been getting the "Runners High", without running.. If that makes sense.. I am feeling great without needing to do something externally to get there... This raw food idea is pretty dynamic!
Thanks.. Re: Raw Distance Running

Date: July 25, 2006 04:15AM Cool running site. I just watched an interview with Tim Vanorden on raw running. I'm not a runner, but it was very inspiring because the guy is like 38 and beating people half his age. Said he also cured his asthma and sports injuries, bad knees etc.
