So I had a doctor apt. today, and just realised, my blood pressure was 136/80
pulse was 68, temp was 98.2 and resp. is 12..

Now, I weight 126lbs, and Im 5'6

I normally dont have a blood pressure of 136/80

uhhm, is this something to be concerned about? and could it be caused by to much fruit? just curious..

You are likely experiencing "white coat" blood pressure. If you are really concerned about it,buy a home monitor. I'll bet it is significally lower in a relaxed environment.

Yeah, herbal, when I go to my doctor, I am so mellow, my bp's something like 110/70. But on the odd day when I'm consulting a specialist whose bedside manner I don't know, or if I'm accompanying someone else to the doctor's and have my bp taken on a whim, it's elevated, as if to say, "get me outta here!" Blood pressure not an accurate indicator of health at any given moment.

The only thing may be that your sodium ratio is off, but you eat mostly fruits, right? So C. Dove is probably right that it was flukey.

No, fruit doesn't cause BP.

I follow a high-fruit diet, and my BP is consistently 100/60.

Hi All,

Whether eating SAD or raw, my bp has always been 120/80 on a consistant basis. The only time it was elevated was 12yrs ago when I was experiencing panic attacks. So stressful situations may have something to do with it. My wife has been on bp meds for 20yrs. I wish she would change her diet because if she lost weight that might help. I try not to harp on it with her but since I'm 53 & she's 47 I think it's getting to the point where a diet change may be needed by her to lower it.

As the bible puts it nicely, I try to take the plank out of my eye b4 I worry about the speck of dust in her's.

Fruit should actually lower high blood pressure because of potassium which helps to lower bp.
