Red dates

I saw lots of red dates in all sizes in china town yesterday.
Are they much different to the usual dates?

Sometimes chinese label red dates the dry jujubes, and they use them as medicinal. Maybe it's what you saw.

The red dates I've had in the past were really dry. Almost to dry...
I'll stick with the juicy dates.

I eat those all the time- I carry around a bag of them and some almonds. Very dry, but nice to munch on. Sometimes they have pits, too, so gotta be careful! (^_^)
