i asked this question earlier, and didn't get much respose, so here goes again:

what's the deal with grains and legumes? why do some of you guys not eat that stuff sprouted? i'm new to this and wonder what the reasons are.

any thoughts?

pre raw i was never a big eater of grains , breads, .. so i have just never carried over to using them raw

legumes seem really hard to digest (for me anyways) without cooking and i have yet to have found a list that lists the ones that are truly ok to eat raw

I did try to eat sprouted millet, quinoa, even wheat but I really don't like the taste and the starchy feeling it gave. After a few recipes, all with horrible taste, I gave up without any regret. Some say that grains contain opiacés - addictive for those qho eat it.

Well, bread was the last thing I ate cooked. Probably why I still think about it. my last craving to overcome...

I think they are hard to digest.

If I eat sprouts, it's not usually grain; it's usually legumes or fruit (buckwheat).

I don't eat [sprouted]grains or legumes at all anymore, for the reasons cynthia listed. Curiously, my body doesn't miss them.
