mostly veggies, little fruit
Posted by: mrdc ()

hi

i used to eat mostly fruit and just a salad for dinner.
My naturopath tells me that from the tests she's run i need to reverse
my eating and eat mostly veggies and only a little fruit in the pm.

Anyone else eat mostly veggies?

mrdc,

Are you familiar with Gabriel Cousins's regimen? A lettuce salad will not hit all nutrient requirements over time the way a variety of leafy greens would, so did your naturopath indicate that you have a serious deficiency from not eating vegetables? If so, you could just eat more vegetables in ratio to fruits, right?

I don't use lettuce.
I use spinach collard greens and kale.
Also cucumber green peeper flax seeds sunflower seeds and tomatoes.

My naturopath says i have a gloucose imbalance and need to cut down on
all the sugary fruits.
I used to eat 2-5 bananas a day and lots of smoothies with watermelon blueberries and stawberries.

Now I just have fruit apres dinner.

Are you mixing fruit with fats? Like, are you eating the fruit "apres dinner" hours after dinner, or soon after? Glucose imbalances can be caused by consuming fructose in combination with fats, not necessarily by consuming fructose, per se. It is generally advised to eat fruit on an empty stomach, for example, first thing in the morning and up until lunchtime, and fat at the very end of the day, like nuts in a sprout salad, so that there is no digestive interference.

i used to eat fruit all day...alone with nothing.
now just fruit in the pm alone.

So i don't know where the imbalance is coming from.
she asked me to try changing my diet for a while to see
how it goes.

i was just wondering if many people here ate more veggies than fruit.
most people seem to be fruitarians or close to it.
peace

try eating your fruits in the morning hrs rather than pm hrs, then check your glucose again and i do think veggies should be a larger part of your daily intake than fruit.

i gravitate heavily towards a predominantly greens diet smiling smiley i think ive eaten more fruit in the last 2 years than i have in the first 37 years of my life quite easily lol smiling smiley

i think tho my body really needs alot of greens for all the repairs, ive been noticing my cravings are tending towards sweet fruits the last few months and less greens smiling smiley

i think im just slowly evolving smiling smiley

how much would you need to eat if you eat mostly vegies For example what do you eat in a day. I feel that if I don't have about 10 bananas a day I will lose alot of weight.
