Date: August 08, 2009 04:36PM Have any of you see someone that has been on a live food diet for 2 or 3 weeks, all fruits, experience gout, thing is they say they have never had gout before in their life. Just thought it would be strange since they never had it and then eat healthy then get it.
THanks Re: Question on Gout

Date: August 08, 2009 05:01PM This could be the body detoxing. Gout is a buildup of uric acid in the body, which comes from the consumption of high protein foods (like meat). So when your friend started eating a lot of fruit, the body had extra energy to do some house cleaning, and started removing the uric acid from the tissues, which may have resulted in some inflammation in parts of the body. I had a 7 week bout with gout back in the spring. I had greatly improved my diet prior to the attack, and cured it by that same diet. I do believe its a detox. For some reason the big toe is vulnerable to the attack. Vinny Re: Question on Gout

I know he has started eating watermelon, canteloupe and bananas alot now. Says it gets worse in the bed at night and the mornings must be just awful. Thanks for the replys Re: Question on Gout
