Or is the oil processed? Re: Raisins?

Date: September 16, 2009 06:13AM The best quality dried fruit has and needs no additives. Avoid added oils and sulfites.
All oils are processed. They are not whole foods, and as Doug Graham says they are empty calories, just fats extracted from their source's full complement of nutrients. Good luck finding raw raisins that don't cost an arm and a leg. I get these Paul Newman's organics through Amazon, if you do Subscribe & Save (free) they're only $17.64 for about 6 pounds and ship free (Subscribe & Save is sweet you can cancel a shipment or request a new one at any time. No obligations) [www.amazon.com] I read somewhere online where someone reported that they contacted Newmans and they said they're dried at pretty low temperatures, like usually sun-dried, or worst case scenario in a mechanical dryer of 115 degrees. Good enough for me. I'm trying to lay off the dried fruit but they're good cheap calories. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
