Come on in and post
Posted by: eaglefly ()

Hi
I was thinking this morning if there are any estimates on how many people visit this website versus how many who actually post,
I was very bashful when I first got online about posting on boards, but now I dont give it a second thought.
If there are any people who feel bashful and want to post, come on in.....
Welcome.

I have found that the best way to get something out of this forum is to put something in.

Right. Most people will linger until they get a post that echoes their situation, interest, or conflict. Then they might post. Genuine curiosity is great...and refreshing....while there are always those who are far more concerned about how the arrow was manufactured and who fired it.....rather than simply removing the arrow and stopping the bleeding....heh...heh. I agree that if one posts their own experience.....you can pull some others into the discussion. Get excited about something...and even jerks will often come along for the ride.

"Come on in and post"

Thanks, I believe I will.
Several years ago I was a member of this forum mostly as a lurker, but drifted away. Today I decided to try to log-in but was refused. I tried the send me my password which failed. I then requested membership using my old log-in name and it was granted. Apparently I was dropped for inactivity or some such.

I am now thinking I want to try another go at this stuff.

My name is Ken (pdxken)

Welcome Ken,
Come on in and tell us about yourself.
If you feel comfortable doing so.

Hi all!

I've been here for a few months. I'm rather shy, quiet and not very assertive at all. smiling smiley

I did post a few times and still aspire to do so when something catches my eye. However, with my first post on this forum, the question I had asked was answered at first in a rather abrupt manner by someone, which put me off. There were others, however, who stepped in and offered their sage advice in a manner that was very nice and welcoming, which I am very grateful for. Thank you! Since then, I've been a bit reluctant to ask any questions. I'm here to learn, so I read the boards a lot and comment when something in particular strikes me.

I am very happy to have found this place and very glad to be here. I promise I'll try and post more. smiling smiley

Great!
I know what you mean about being new and having an abrupt answer.
I guess like everywhere else there will be varying personalities.

I am not sure what I am trying to accomplish with this thread.Just that if anyone was sitting on the sideline, and wanted to post,I wanted to help them in and be heard.
We all need to be heard.

You weren't dropped, the whole board was dropped, what happened is that the board crashed a few years ago and we all had to get new ID's for the new board.
