Fuyu persimmons: High pesticide load?

Are conventional fuyu persimmons high in pesticides? I can't seem to find organically grown, but I live in CA and a lot of these trees are around. Do they attract the little buggies?

BTW - do you eat the skin of a fuyu? I've seen people peel them and don't know why.

I got some, and I ate the skin (they were organic), though I'll admit, they were tough skins!

rufio,

I couldn't find any info online about pesticide loads on persimmons, but I did read several accounts of persimmon fruits' being immune to pests, though the tree itself can be susceptible to disease. The plant also grows in almost any kind of soil; perhaps its hardiness means it's not likely to be very contaminated? It is advised, anyways, to buy organic or peel conventional fuyu to be on the safe side.

Thank you, Tamukha and RaeVynn. I will just have to peel them for now I guess.

Assuming they're ripe, wouldn't it be easier to just halve them and scoop out the flesh with a spoon, like a kiwi fruit, rather than peel them?
