You are going to have to run that one by with your assumptions. Many of these folks are on 8-1-1, which are just organic fruits and veggies with little quantities of need lipids. Flax seed is cheap. Even organic veggies and fruits are inexpensive compared to the total cost of buying conventional and heating it. Right? Are you assuming cooked organic or cooked conventional? Either way, you'd better state your baseline when you make such a statement. Re: Cooked Food is:

I will not hijack this post with that argument about the cost of raw food. I live on small Caribbean island and we have to import most things. Anyway, Watch this space for a new thread, when I have fully formulated my response. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 11/19/2009 07:15PM by OkunDeji. Re: Cooked Food is:

Date: November 19, 2009 07:24PM Would have helped if you included a disclaimer that your observations were from a personal rather than general perspective. No matter. I look forward to reviewing your assumptions from either perspective without concern as I know for me, from a personal perspective, 100 percent raw is infinitely cheaper than cooked when I look at the total costs, not just the price of the food.

(There is only one thing about hospitals that's good, and that's when you have broken your leg and need quick help. But the question is: If we had such strong and healthy bones with raw food, would we really crack our bones? Why not teach everyone to correct the broken bones and use two sticks to force it still so it can heal?) - making our body work overtime to protect us. - makes you weak and sick when you go old. An interesting list. ...seductive. ...socially accepted. ...one representation of peer pressure. ...more widely available in restaurants. I especially hate the socially accepted part. I live in an area which has some pretty low awareness of real food. I haven't been raw since moving here. I am still labled 'healthy' and people say it like its freakish or something to be avoided. In away I think there is some admiration, but mostly it feels isolating. And there is significant pressure for conformity, even in the workplace. I find that so annoying. Re: Cooked Food is:

Date: November 22, 2009 05:49AM It's not just socially accepted; it's socially expected!
Isn't it strange that it feels radical to do something so natural? I just imagined us all playing roles in a movie where we are members of a global French Resistance-like group - - a clandestine, underground society of raw food people secretly trying to change our lives and the lives of others for a better world. Hmmm... My favorite raw vegan Re: Cooked Food is:

Date: November 22, 2009 06:38AM expected? yes, there are many expectations. Most people are guided by what is available, what is public perception, what is the norm. I meet people here who do think about improving health, and increasing options. I can respect them for trying, but I often perceive them as being rather misguided, and to a large extent still thinking within the box. Re: Cooked Food is:
