question about celiacs

Date: November 26, 2009 11:19AM hi everyone.
my sister in law is a celiac and im wondering how the raw food diet would have an impact. Of course i know it will improve conditions but im wondering would it help with the cross contamination thing. every time she gets even a speck of gluten she feels ill. like if someone used a cutting boad for bread and she used it by accident for gluten free bread she would react. would raw help improve this so that her tolerances would be higher and she would react less to contamination? Date: November 26, 2009 06:49PM Beyond the obvious things she has to avoid ... like the breads and pasta etc .. alot of people with celiacs disease dont realize how far reaching gluten contamination can be in their everyday purchases .. for instance alot of assembly lines are dusted with wheat flour to keep products from sticking, frozen french fries are often dusted with wheat flour for the same reason and the label is not required to print it ... or say that biodegradable cup you have the fast food coffee in ...that can also be made with gluten ..yes the cup !
a raw foods , low processed foods diet would sure help her to aliavate the suffering from the disease itself .. and probably strengthen her immune system .. would she react less ? thats hard to say , the body is a strange mysterious thing .. its possible , but i think the key thing is to avoid the perpetrator (gluten) which is EVERYWHERE even hidden at times. hope this helps ...Jodi, the banana eating buddhist Re: question about celiacs
