Kwanzaa is a unique celebration with focus on Afrikan traditional values of family, community responsibility, commerce, self empowerment. It is not political nor religious, it is not a substitute for Christmas. Kwanzaa means first fruits of the harvest in the Afrikan language Kiswahilli. There are seven principles and it is celebrated Dec 26th to January 1st. Umoja = Unity / Kujichagulia = self-determination/ Ujima = collective work & responsibility/ Ujamaa = cooperatve economics/ Nia = purpose/ Kuumba = creativity/ Imani = faith. Enjoy and bless Re: Happy Kwanzaa - The First Fruits Festival
