eating so much fruit and veg leads me to be pretty bloated.. i guess from all the fiber. at least i assum a connection. does anyone have similar experience? and any idea how to cure the problem? a bloated tummy is more prone to candida growth and besides it simply very uneasthetic!

Have you read about food combining? That might help. Some foods take longer to digest than others. For example, don't eat fruit and nuts at the same time since fruits digest so much faster than nuts, but when eaten together it has to hang around until the proteins and oils in the nuts are ready to move on. As I understand it, that's when the sugars in the fruits can ferment and make gas. Basically, food combining theory says that some foods should be eaten alone and others are fine combined. I just keep fruit separate, but it can get complicated to follow all of the suggested combinations. Hmmm. See what you think. Here are two charts I looked at when I was reading about it. I 'm sure there are many others, but you'll et the idea.

Food combining, seconded. Are you unused to eating raw fruits and veggies anyway? Like, did you not eat many of them when you were cooked? If so, it may help to try mono eating of fruits: start off with the juiciest ones first thing in the morning and work your way up to dense ones toward lunchtime, eating only one kind at a time and waiting an hour or so before eating the next kind. Eat greens fairly simply, without a lot of other things mixed in, and if with fruit, start by seeing how you feel mixing lettuce, say, with citrus segments or juicy berries. Chew thoroughly. And don't eat fats with fruit! Good luck!

yes, I guess that might be part of the reason. I do mingle fruit with other foods or eat some afterwards as a desert. and I've also been combining fruit with nuts/seeds. but I've always eaten quit a bit when talking about the amounts. I must find out what other cause their might be though. thanks for your advice!

You may have low stomach acid which can cause bloating due to increased fermentation. Is that your only gastro symptom?

bitter herbs/digestive bitters that come in contact with the back of your tongue(bitter receptors) are good, they stimulate the vagus nerve which then stimulates the release of stomach acid, pancreatic enzymes, bile secreation and provides a cleansing action to the liver.

up your water if you do as these really cleanse your liver and are the best tool for doing so.

+1 for this post and food combining as well. Also you have to consider mucous congestion in the digestive system as one of the main causes. If you're new to eating lots of fruit, then this will definately be part of the problem. As you erase the offensive things from your diet and add in fruit, it will draw out the mucous in the digestive system, reducing your efficiancy in digesting fruit. This will only be temporary however.
