Date: August 17, 2010 10:16PM I'm constantly emailed with questions about sprouts. Seeds, grains, legumes - Are they worth your time? What about the claims that they're nutrient powerhouses?
I've written an article for anyone interested here: [www.raw-food-health.net] Re: Sprouts, Sprouts, The Magical Fruit! The More You Eat....

I would rather eat handfulls of sprouts(which I actually do and it has never caused me any distress or wind out of my rear) than a cheeseburger. VINNY Re: Sprouts, Sprouts, The Magical Fruit! The More You Eat....

Date: August 19, 2010 08:11AM I don't like sprouts and they certainly don't like me!!! Over the years I've tried them on numerous occasions and have always had a problem with them. I no longer eat them.
Vinny - I don't think the choice is sprouts or cheese burger Re: Sprouts, Sprouts, The Magical Fruit! The More You Eat....

Date: August 19, 2010 04:02PM Do wonderfully well on sprouted seeds; don't feel the need to eat sprouted beans or grains. Wheatgrass is very beneficial to me. I guess it depends on one's constitution. Re: Sprouts, Sprouts, The Magical Fruit! The More You Eat....

Date: August 19, 2010 04:02PM They make my stomach bloat - looks like I am 5 months pregnant and give me loads of gas - it would be hilarious if it wasn't so painful. Re: Sprouts, Sprouts, The Magical Fruit! The More You Eat....

Date: August 20, 2010 05:26AM It seems to be fairly common for people to have unpleasant reactions in the digestive system from raw bean sprouts, yet raw seed or nut sprouts are more easily digested. I always blanch my bean sprouts before eating. They taste that way better, also. All in all, I prefer raw sun seeds, almonds, etc. Re: Sprouts, Sprouts, The Magical Fruit! The More You Eat....

Date: August 20, 2010 04:58PM Sprouted broccoli has over 200 times the sulfurophane (a strong anti-cancer compound) as mature broccoli. Sprouted lentils have over 7 grams of protein per cup and only 80 calories. I eat both with sprouted mung beans, & alfalfa spouts. Love'em.

Date: August 20, 2010 05:55PM I use to have a thing for sprouts. A certain flavor predominates when I eat them now. I find this flavor in certain vegetables such as peas and greens that I dislike. It didn't seem to be there before, but it is now. I guess that means to lay off the sprouts, peas, and green beans. david Re: Sprouts, Sprouts, The Magical Fruit! The More You Eat....

Date: August 20, 2010 08:13PM dvdai, it is good that you are obeying your instincts in this matter. Who knows, maybe your tastes will change again and you will be able to eat those foods again.
Re sprouted lentils - really, is there a nicer food? I love them, too. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
