Anyone eat Monstera deliciosa?

We picked up one today. Looks interesting, never had before. They say it tastes similar to pineapple...we'll see...

It will be a few days, as it still has to go through the ripening process.

Yeah, make sure it's ripe to the point of rotten. It really burns the mouth if it's even slightly less than 'ripe'.

I understand they have a "pungent" smell when ripe. I hope I can determine when "ripe" is...

I've eaten it and love it. However I don't see it often and when available, it's expensive. The texture of the ripe fruit reminds me of a soft ripe banana. Very important to let the scales fall off by themselves rather than try to peel them off. otherwise it may make for uncomfortable eating. Hope you enjoy it.
