Fitday/other site/program to track diet?

I was looking at fitday, but from what I can see it pretty much only lists "standard" entries for foods. Stuff like; apples, bananas, oranges, almonds, etc.

I was looking for something that you could input you own juice blends for example, & the program would give you a running total of all the nutrients.

Anyone know of anything avail. that will do this? Or maybe fitday will do it & I just don't quite understand how to make it work yet... grinning smiley

Oh yeah, looking for free pgm. of course! grinning smiley

You can do this with Fitday but you just have to enter it manually and do your own calculations and math. I have a few things that I do this with so I can just enter it as one drink. I use FitdayPC though which is a bit easier..it's free if you're into pirated software.

The only other one I can think of that might do it is DailyPlate.com

I'm not really sure how I can enter all that manually, especially with juices, as I don't know where to get accurate values.

I just use whfoods.com and enter it as whole food. The only thing that really changes is the lack of fiber. Nutrients vary from fruit to fruit anyway so I don't worry about it.

If I juice 1lb of carrots.. I put it in as 1lb of carrots.

There's probably more accurate charts in juicing books. I know there was one in the back of Dr. Normal Walker's juicing book..but not sure if it was for whole or juiced.

You can do this with www.nutridiary.com. There is a "meals" tab that allows you to create your own meals that you can save and log without having to reenter all the different foods each time. It's pretty nifty. smiling smiley

I dont understand how this would work, you'd have to disect the info as the fibre and such would still be there which is missing in juicing. Im sure also that some of the nutrients go with the fibre also so it probably wont be accurate.

I'll have to look through some of my juicing books; I believe I may have seen nutrient charts in them. If I find them, I will post where the information can be found in case any of you may want to use it as well.

The only problem will be that the nutrient levels will vary per batch of produce its the same with herbs and so on. Did they grow in the same soil, sunlight etc. Thats the reason why natural formulas dont always have the same nutrient content because it varys so radically compared to synthetic vitamins which are always the same.

Each batch of juice would need to be tested for nutrient content.

Same could be said for one batch of carrots to the next.

As far as the accuracy, it is very inaccurate.

This is true which is why most produce isnt labelled to vitamin C content etc.
