Thats what I hear a lot of people get. I am curious to know if that is what everyone is getting why is it better than the rest of them.

I have a Nesco FD-60 and it works well. Although I haven't used it in a while since the health food store I shop at carries a wide range of dehydrated fruits. The irony is that the dried fruits are much cheaper than if I did it myself.

One thing I did like to make where dehydrated yam chips. Yummy!

serena if you havent used one before you might consider hunting for one used to see if you are really going to use it much .. otherwise if you are going for brand new and have your heart set on it .. the 9 tray excalibur is incredibly awesome , that is what i have and its worth spending the extra few $ to get the 9 trays over the 5 as you can always not use some of the trays but if you have large batches of something the 9 is the way to go smiling smiley [www.discountjuicers.com]

Unfortunately, most dehydrated fruits available in stores near me have preservatives added. Worse, my favorite source of dried mangoes has "dried up" so to speak. The kind the store now carries is dyed a hideous orange. Blech!

I have two cheapie dehydrators that were given to me, but neither has temperature control so I don't use them. I would LOVE to have a dehydrator with nine trays. Some come with non-stick sheets which also seem like a great idea. Alas...all too expensive for me right now....

Serena,

I answered you on the juicing forum. I own a 9 tray Excalibur and am very happy with it. But if I were buying today, I would buy this one. [www.good4uproducts.com]

No preservatives used at Vitamin Cottage Natural Grocers in Colorado. They even use organic fruit.
