Date: October 04, 2010 06:56PM I have heard warnings about using too much beet juice in recipes--that it is too cleansing and that it can paralyze your vocal cords. Re: Ok you work-out fiends, check out this beet root juice info!

Beet roots are hardly ever in my supermarket which makes it hard for me to use them. They can be very strong liver detox which is usually why those who overdo it feel very sick. Re: Ok you work-out fiends, check out this beet root juice info!

Date: October 04, 2010 07:15PM Is beet root different than beets? I would think beets would be available in most markets so I am wondering if it's a different thing. Re: Ok you work-out fiends, check out this beet root juice info!

Date: October 04, 2010 07:47PM Yes. Technically, beets are the plant, and the root, which is what we eat, is the beetroot. Re: Ok you work-out fiends, check out this beet root juice info!

Beetroot is the British name for beets, the red bulbous part of the plant that is under the soil. In the States, we say "beet" to mean the root and "beet greens" to mean the leaves and stems(also edible). coco, Interesting--this explains Ukie stamina in military campaigns Thanks for posting! Date: October 07, 2010 02:50AM Beet root juice is nice when mixed with celery juice and a wee bit o' lemon juice. But plain, it's hell on wheels. Don't do it! Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
