Do some textures or shapes of certain foods just not appeal to you?

With raw, I have gotte myself to the point where I can try new foods and eat things plain like lettuce without salad dressing. But I still find certain textures unappealing. Most of the things I blend are just things I don't want to eat normally. When I was a kid, I ate "cherry" flavored candy, drinks and everything. But I still don't like whole cherries. Sometimes I make smoothies "cherry flavored" by throwing in cherries. I also blend because I rather drink a quick meal than sit there eating it.

I don't like biting into oranges. The juice splatters and I don't like the stringy-ness of the pulp. I think the pulp kind of takes away from that amazing OJ taste I love. But I'll throw a whole orange in a blender and drink it. Same with tomatoes. I blend them. I'll only eat grape/cherry tomatoes and can eat a pint in one sitting.

Other things are just disgusting to me and need to be blended to taste better. I'll never eat a whole banana by itself and it's because I hate the taste and not the texture.

Just wondering if anyone else is like this. I think raw would be easier for me if I didn't have weird hangups about shapes and textures.

Off the top of my head...

well...sometimes the "mushiness" of an avocado turn me a bit, esp. if it is watery. I love Oranges, pulp & all...

can't really think of anything else at this point...

interestingly enough, most foods I find disgusting as far as taste or texture goes, are Non-vegan foods, anything made with tapioca pearls I cant really stand the texture of, but tapioca flour I dont have a problem with in certain things... Peach skin is one for me too Jan, Fresh Apricots, I cant stand the texture, but love the flavor, if they are Over ripe (or dried) then im fine with them...

Oh, mirror in the sky
What is love?
Can the child within my heart rise above?
Can I sail through the changing ocean tides?
Can I handle the seasons of my life?

Yes. I don't like many textures. The biggest turnoff is anything gelatinous. I don't like custards, puddings, aspic, jello, etc. It took decades to get used to the gelatinous texture of avocados and mangoes even though I have always like the flavor of both., but I'm ok with them now. I still can't eat a banana because of the way it gets slimy and squishy in the mouth. They're OK in shakes though.

I had to peel peaches as a kid because they were so fuzzy I felt like I was choking. I think the varieties that are commercially grown today have less fuzz on them.

I don't like grainy textures in apricots or some apples.

I'm not very fond of spongy textures like mushrooms or angel food cake.

I really like starchy, dry textures like cooked potatoes, apples, and pears.I also like crunchy foods. I particularly like the way carrots snap. Creamy textures like whipped cream or avocado. I also like to squeeze chunks of water melon in my mouth and feel the juices burst out.
