We are not animals though.

We are so too animals! But we live so far outside what is natural we might as well not be...
I'll take the blood tests. Just look at what happened to that Natasha woman lately. Possible permanent damage due to B-12 deficiency that she would never have known of if not for some blood work.

Great, another classic thread by DurainRider. (sarcasm)

Some of us need blood tests. Can be a matter of life or death.
Others like blood tests to see their health on paper.

SAD people think they're "healthy" and they're not. And there are plenty of raw people walking around with deficiencies and then some random idiot on a forum tells them they are "detoxing".

Yes, of course we are animals, but yes again coco, we live so far from nature in our diet and living that blood tests can be a necessary guide as to whether we are deficient. But they are a guide only. Afterall, I believe the suggested RDA was originally taked from a cross section of seemingly healthy individuals who were on SAD.

I dont know ive always thought of us as humans rather than animals, which is why i hate when people read studies on mice, rats, birds and take it as evidence of such and such. Were not mice, rats or birds, we may have similar receptors but that means nothing in human physiology.

and yeah as has been stated sick animals regularly get blood tests at vets from what i know.

Wild animals also don't have health care, get x-rays etc...so break a bone and that could be the end of their life.

uhm i know that but were not physiologically identical to any of these animals are we?

hence the different health needs. some mammals can synthesize there own ascorbic acid supply can humans no.

Powerlifer, this is your quote. "We are not animals though." You did not know that humans were animals. So I said yes, it was biology and we are mammals. I didn't respond re: difference in health needs.

Yes and you will have read in my further reply a few posts afterwards that i said we dont share the same physiology as any of these animals, so its a null point that just because animals in the wilderness dont use blood tests we shouldn't.

infarct its quite a silly video when i think about it. I see many agreeing with durian on the youtube video i just hope down the line if there was a health issue they use abit of commonsense and go get blood tests if needed.

I just find it interesting that you didn't know humans were animals, the way you talk about physiology on here.

His point was we aren't the same as animals, arguing how somebody framed a statement, for something that was obviously not meant the way you have interpreted it, and obviously wasn't communicated well by them the first time, then dragging it out when they have stated what their real meaning was, seems kind of petty...

We all have moments where we didn't frame our statements correctly for what we where trying to communicate with them.

utopian im not going to ruin another thread with your often pointless and petty debates you knew fine well what i meant i explained it in 2 posts now this being the third, i know fine well humans are closely related to animals and the whole evolution process, my point was as curator has kindly explained, and that post you quoted by myself but ill explain again for you, even though all of the above we are not the same as animals, we have different physiology thus different needs. I pointed out one distinct difference in that most mammals minus 4 i believe can synthesize there own ascorbic acid supply.

I don't think what I write is pointless and petty, as you state.
You still don't seem to understand that humans ARE animals, because you statement says we are "closely related." No, we ARE. smiling smiley animals. smiling smiley

Did DurianRider state somewhere that human animals and nonhuman animals are THE SAME? I didn't see that.

You seem to be missing the point im making, ok so your saying we are exactly physiologically the same as apes, lions, elephants etc etc. LOL

Anyway im not going to prolong another boring pointless debate with you when ive said all ive said above.

Good night

Mammals are animals. Humans are mammals. We're just as animal as any dolphin or cat. We're just different.

I used to refer to humans and animals as different beings, but in the past couple months I've stopped. I'm an animal, any I belong to the human species, specifically Homo sapiens.

lol@this thread turning into a debate about whether or not we are animals.

It's irrelevant to blood tests. "wild animals" such as a monkey or a moose can't walk into an office and tell them they'd like a blood test.

In this day and age, wild animals aren't all that "healthy" anyway. I just saw something on animal planet the other day about a squirrel who hoarded so many nuts that it couldn't get out of it's tree hole and was too fat too move. DR will probably use this example to go on about how fat/nuts aren't needed..But my point is... wild animals aren't all that great at staying healthy either. If they were..it's body woudl've told him to stop eating and go eat some leaves.
