811 and ripe bananas
Posted by: pippin07 ()

Greetings!

I have been following 811 and use a lot of bananas as my main calorie source. I am finding it hard to get and keep a supply of very ripe bananas on hand, and was wondering if there is not some way to speed the ripening process. Maybe turn the oven on and place them on top of stove? What does a 811 person due if you run out of bananas? Seems like it would be hard to get enough to eat without them.

Thanks for your help!
Denise

Put them in a paper bag. The ethylene gas will concentrate and speed ripening. You can also try putting them in a paper bag with an avocado and it will go even faster.

There are many other high-calorie fruits to choose from: melons, citrus (oranges, yum, clementines), mangoes, pineapple, grapes, dates.....etc.

Just don't heat them--that's cooking, not ripening!

This is what me & Freelee use as a staple instead of bananas.
