High Raw With High GAS - Help

Hello all
I eat alot of fruit and veggies during the day and have gas all the time. Is there anything i can do to stop the gas.

i would try not mixing my fruits/veggies with nuts and seeds and other fats (avos and oils etc) .. leaving plenty of time between these things and see if improves the gassy situation smiling smiley

I don't know how to be delicate with this, but it
sounds like you're constipated. A good Colon Cleansing is
in order. Or, you can eliminate the constipating foods, and
just ride it out. It will eventually clear by itself.....WY

Jodi's suggestions on food combining are a good one, if that doesn't work there are two possibilities.

One that you are new to a high fiber diet and are in a transition period where it is quite natural. Or that you have low stomach acid and the increased fermentation is causing gas which is quite common.

Cabbage is a great source of digestive bacteria. Eat cabbage and drink cabbage juice.

I haven't read that anywhere that they are an actual source of good bacteria?, but it is a good prebiotic which feeds and promotes the growth of the gut flora.

I still contend that High Raw with High Gas is caused from overeating.
Improper Food Combining, in theory, gets the blame. But we see, in practice, that Food Combining is a myth. I'd be willing to bet that many people here eat poor food combinations, and never get Gas.....WY

Chewing adequately is a big one, also making sure not to eat too late at night, not to eat when you're not really hungry, eating slowly. Food combining can help, I did find it so when I went through my gassy uncomfortable period (IBS in fact, totally healed by raw food). It's also important to get enough physical exercise, to be hydrated either by liquids or watery foods, and to reduce stress.

One thing that many find when increasing fiber is that they go through a phase like this as their body adjusts. Give yourself some time.

slow down eating, make sure all food is chewed thoroughly and in small bites. Consider taking a probiotic, such as primadolphilous reteuri. And as a last resort, take some beano before meals.

here's how I think gas, improper food combining and over-eating are all connected: food combining - ie, combining different food groups together - is usually done with the intention to make the food yummy - think of a choc shake made with cacao, bananas, almond milk, avocado, etc... that would taste sooo good, it would encourage you to eat (well, drink) lots of it, probably beyond what you needed. Which could lead to gas, due to an inability of your digestive system to cope with all the food. So; simple, mindful eating of foods that aren't over-stimulating to the tastebuds is the best smiling smiley

When I eat a fatty meal, say a salad with an avocado, and then shortly afterwards I eat something sweet, say like some dates, this is a recipe for gas for me.
