Wow, that's a LOT of dates, dude! I think young coconut water is a great alternative for that neon sports concoction, plus you could juice some greens with itsmiling smiley

Celery juice is good for a gatorade like drink as well.

I'd be curious to try a juiced celery and lettuce head + the dates and maybe some pineapple. smiling smiley

Coconut water is a great tool for replenishing electrolytes.

What kind of blenders are you guys using to make this datorade/graterade type drinks?

I have a vitamix and have been abit scared to put medjool dates in just incase, will it handle them?

I also want to make bars based on dates also.

powerlifer - I put any old dates into my really old blender - dates aren't a problem so long as there aren't any stones lurking in them!!! dates are soft.

Cheers flipper, i have read similar posts but for some reason a food processor i bought a while back couldnt even process medjool dates.

This angered me to end lol, since then i have a vitamix tnc and i have been afraid to try dates in it so end up just eating them.

Although ive had a little fright with dates in general, opened one up the other week out of interest and there was loads of little brown eggs, not going to put me off eating them but made me abit paranoid so i now open everyone first lol

Sounds delicious fresh.

Powerlifer, my understanding is that if you find a brown powdery stuff in the dates, it's worm @#$%&. Not that that's preferable to eggs or something. Or perhaps you did find eggs, though I've never seen it. Also if you are concerned about your dates blending, you can just soak them until they are totally hydrated.

Soaking is a good idea cheers prana. Ahhh worm poo could have well been that, it was just loads of tiny little eggs looking like things.

Will be cutting into my dates from now.
