Please me some high starch ideas other than carrots

Hi there I am pretty new to this raw thing. I've been about 80% raw for three weeks now.

Although I feel amazing I find it hard to concentrate at work sometimes. For the past couple days I have been eating raw carrot soup for lunch and I feel great. I think I just need some more starch in my diet.

For a newbie like me what are some other ideas for starches.

I east a lot of fruit each day and nuts and seeds on my salad.

Every once in a while, I like to add some raw wheat germ to a salad or a nori roll.

Also, if you have a dehydrator or lots of sunshine, you can sprout some grains (very short sprouts, no green ends), mash them with a little water, make them into flat bread, and dry them. It's good with avocado, tomato, and dulse on top, but heavy, so maybe best not to eat all the time.

Carrots are quite low in starch, though high in sugar; perhaps you need more of that? Agree with powerlifer about barely-sprouted grains. Some people enjoy raw sweet potatoes shredded as a salad or juiced. Best wishes smiling smiley

Make sure you get some fat in that soup, fat is good it is awsome energy. And yes the sprouted grains are awesome, with fat also. The simple way to eat raw is to utlilize soaked nuts with your favorite vegies, or grains with your favorite vegies and some flax or other oils.

How about Buckwheat, Corn, Dehydrated raw onion bread? When I was 100% raw and needed starch, like bread, I would do the buckwheat or corn. I currently am eating some cooked so I don't have the starch cravings as much. I cannot do too much carrot juice b/c it's too sweet. Good luck! Therese

Corn, broccoli, parsnip, celery root.

Eat raw corn on the cob. Use broccoli in a salad. Parsnips and celery root make great raw soups.

give me a break! If you are gonna make jicama fries, you could just as easily make jicima rice or jicima coleslaw. here's your jicima rice recipe [rawtestkitchen.blogspot.com] and here's your jicama slaw [hotdinnerhappyhome.blogspot.com]. And is if that weren't enough, we got David Jubb's jicama rice recipe... [www.sproutingsprouts.com]

Now go out there and make some raw coleslaw!!! [www.youtube.com]

It was a great movie. One of Woody Allen's best. It starred Louise Lasser and Woody. Good film. Highly recommended. }winking smiley
