Does anyone have a GOOD! source for Brazil Nuts? A really good source please, they are really hard to come by. Only reply if you are experienced with soaking nuts because when you soak Brazil Nuts they loose there crunch if they are not really fresh and processed with low temperatures. It would also be great to have some truly raw almonds! Thanks a million, rzman

Have you tried sunfood.com? So far, I think they have the best truly raw brazilnuts. Kind of expensive though.

I recently placed an order with Essential Living Foods, but it's been awhile and haven't received anything from them. Has anyone ordered from them?

Has anyone ordered brazilnuts from rawguru.com?

I've found Living Tree Community Foods fantastic for all nuts, but they're very expensive.

The sources above are good, though a bit costly. I use to have an almond source, but they ran out. Sept/Oct is the new crop.

Brazil nuts supposedly don't need to be soaked, according to many sources. Same with other nuts. I guess because they don't sprout.

Thanks everyone I will try one of these suppliers that you have mentioned. I have been scouting the same ones but yes they are very expensive and that is a big problem. GilmoreGirl Brazil nuts do have to be soaked like any other nuts or seeds. They don't need to sprout, you are just trying to remove the enzyme inhibitors so you can digest them properly.

Common people lets give up some of our sources of great inexpensive nuts lol. I wish I was stronger to be on this fourm more to strengthen the raw food community. We really need to get together and grow, Be an example to our friends and all that are around us. I hope all here have gone to cornucopia.com and filed a petition to make organic almonds raw again, and make a donation if possible.

Hi rzman,

The brazil nuts from Essential Living Foods arrived sooner than I thought (I didn't see the notice in my PO Box). They are really good! They are raw and certified organic. The price is $18.99 for 2 pounds ($10.00/lb), compared to $16.95/lb at Sunfood.

Hi, I'm new here and to RAW (4.5 months).
Thank you for sharing the website, Rzman. I assume you mean:

I was not aware that we can go to the site and sign/file a petition. I'm going to do that right now. It's outrageous what they do to food before it's available to the consumer sad smiley
