NYC mulls ban on trans fats in eateries

"The city health department unveiled a proposal Tuesday that would bar cooks at any of the city's 24,600 food service establishments from using ingredients that contain the artery-clogging substance, commonly listed on food labels as partially hydrogenated oil."

that's funny
cuz ANY oil that is heated to a high enough temp
is mucho problems

so what if they replace their lardomargarinebuttercrisco with soy oil
but use it to deep fry their frenchy fries?

wow, what an improvement
sooo "healthY"
cooked truly is insane

why don't they just ban doritos-nachos-onionrings-frenchfries-oreos-littledebbiesnackers-Klondike choco bars while they're at it?
why just choose ONE ingredient?

in fact, why don't they just ban ALL restaurants that cook their foods
heh heh heh

Apocalypse Now!!

Let's give America a face lift

and uh... how 'bout the entire world , while we're at it

banning trans fat is like banning one ingredient from cigarettes by citing how
carcinogenic it is

best to ban the entire cigarette

why do things half #ss??

At McDonalds, they use the same oil to fry their french fries and hash browns for three days before changing it out. Each day they go through a frying cycle an average of 15- 20 times per hour for 24 hours per day. So if you eat their fries or hash browns, you could be eating oil that has been subjecterd to2.5 minutes of high temperatures 1440 times.

The sad thing is that even if you explained it to people a lot of them would still want to eat them. I have heard that even Ingrid Newkirk is still eating McDonald's french fries.
