Would you want to be a raw food vegan chef??

Date: August 09, 2011 01:51AM I'm going to be taking 3 classes from a woman who is a certified raw foods coach and it made me wonder how one becomes that and if any or all of you would ever consider it...seems like one would be set for life if they were a raw foods chef~
I am so brand-new to this and I'm grateful I'll be taking classes and wondering if more classes (to the nth degree) would be ideal~ Your thoughts and experience? Re: Would you want to be a raw food vegan chef??

Date: August 09, 2011 03:20AM personally i wouldnt take instruction from someone who hasnt alreadylearned the fundamentals of cooking (or uncooking)
there is more to be a chef than cooking (or uncooking) its all all about taste and texture and mixing and melding and there is alot of science involved .. chemistry... biology ..physics ..food handling and safety ...Jodi, the banana eating buddhist  Re: Would you want to be a raw food vegan chef??

Date: August 10, 2011 07:46PM One does Not have to go to an expensive school to learn to prepare delicious meals. Probably most raw foodists have never been to an expensive school.
My advice would be to get a couple of raw food "cook" books and start making some of the dishes....soon you'll know what you like and how to prep it. Plus, online there are receipes galore and people/texts to help you with how to prep... The beauty of the raw food diet is its simplicity and amazing taste ; ) p.s. The thought of going to a school seems awesome,but, it's not necessary to eat well. To be a coach, well, probably the fastest route is school if you're new. I'm hoping that those classes will get me up to speed to where recipes aren't so intimidating and overwhelming~ Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
