Smoothie in the fridge--how much oxidation?
Posted by: Delta223 ()

Hi,

I'd like to make 2 smoothies in the morning and have the 2nd one around lunch time. Will oxidation be a big issue if the smoothie is stored in the fridge for several hours?

Thanks

Brian Clement of Hippocrates Health Institute in West Palm Beach, FL claims all Smoothies are immediately Oxidized (by whipping air into them), and are therefore worthless. However, Green Smoothies are my thing, and I'll continue having them as soon after blending as possible....never storing them.
This is the reason Clement favors Juicing over Blending. He goes on to say 15 minutes is the time limit on when fresh juices begin to lose their value.
