Date: September 05, 2011 11:04PM Hi all,
I tried to add more seeds and sprouts to my diet. I went to wholefood store and bought organic raw sunflower, sesame, flax seeds. These seeds are without shells. are these seeds safe to be eaten in raw? Do I need to wash them? Do they contain sulphites (as a preservative)? Can these seeds be sprouted? Where can I find the real seeds with shells? Thank you. Re: seeds help.

Date: September 06, 2011 01:23AM Yes they are safe to be eaten raw and would not need disenfecting. Yes you can sprout them. No they do not contain sulfites. I would soak before eating but yes you can eat them raw safely. Re: seeds help.

Date: September 07, 2011 12:26AM Enzyme inhibitors, they prevent the breakdown of protien and other neutrients. They are also toxic to the blood stream but do not, for the most part, absorb through the intestinal wall. And I find that they create an acid condition. Re: seeds help.

Date: September 07, 2011 07:14PM I feel much better after eating sesame seeds and sunflower seeds if I DON'T soak them. When I do soak them, my stomach doesn't like it.
This may just be one of those things that are different for different people. Some people can eat them either way. Sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, and chia are staples in my diet. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
