And what better crew to ask but you recovering-cookaholics.

I'm making some candles right now and am getting a wicked headache off this teflon cooking pot I got at Goodwill.

Anyone got any pure stainless steel large cooking pots (deep, not frying pans)? Stainless steel or whatever else isn't going to hurt my brain or give me children with twelve fingers (actually, that's pretty cool!).

I'll can pay you a little something for them thru paypal.

Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

write me : narz@rawlovers.com

P.S. : I promise not to use the pot(s) for actual cooking! winking smiley

Stainless steel contains alot of toxic chromium and possibly other toxic alloy metals. For cooking stick to cast iron pots.

Are you sure the headache isn't coming from the wax fumes? Do you get the same headache if you boil water in the pot?

And yet rawaholics use teflex sheets in their dehydrators. Smart!

Teflex leaches fluoride and aluminum. Iron leaches too and can be toxic. Stainless steel doesn't really leach as long as you don't put acidic food in it. There are glass saucepans but if you are not actually cooking food in it and eating the food it doesn't matter.

You can get cheap stainless steel pots from Ikea or Amazon, if you can't find anyone getting rid of theirs.

Does it release a lot of smell or any smoke when you melt it? Anything if it's giving off smoke gives me a headache, or if it has a strong smell in it. Like incense and other smokey things, Fireplaces, BBQ's, etc.

I boil water in a kettle (I'm a raw foodist remember, I only drink tea).

It's more than the wax, boiling wax doesn't bother me.

I usually use glass for my water. This is the type I use:
