Date: October 06, 2006 09:56PM I feel, well I know, I have been lied to most of my life about foods. Untill a cancer scare, I dont think I truly saw food as the villian! I am new to eating healthy and I am educating myself as I go. How could we have fallen so far from the truth, about foods? Re: You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free!

Date: October 06, 2006 11:03PM There's lots of blame to go around...
Madison Avenue for marketing the foods... Stockholders for investing in these "food" production companies... Parents willing to cave in to their kids bratty demands... People wanting quick fixes for meals... Lobbyists -- the sugar lobbyists are so damn good that Stevia is marketied as a food additive or supplement instead as a sweetner... I don't usually get religious, but I found it interesting that Joel Osteen recently had 3 weeks of sermons devoted to healthy eating. They were well done. You can see them at: www.joelosteen.com, click on "watch online" and if you want to watch like I do, I personally scroll to the 30:00 minute mark because that's when Joel begins...the first half hour is mostly singing. ~raine~ Re: You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free!

Date: October 06, 2006 11:23PM I think for me, it was all of the above. And the fact, fast food, cooked food ect.. were not labeled as 'bad'. You know like a glass of water is to poision.
Who would ever tell a perent who gave their child a happy meal that they were hurting their child? Re: You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free!

Date: October 07, 2006 12:39AM maybe all these problems - unhealthy food, war, global warming - are there so that we can grow stronger and more enlightened as a species, so eventually when we begin inhabiting new planets and universes we'll have a better understanding of how best to conduct our lives.
