Date: October 08, 2006 04:27PM How many greens (i guess in quantity of leaves) should a person consume in a day to receive all of the necessary vitimins and nutrients? I eat about 2-4 large leaves per day. Is this enough? Re: How many greens?

Date: October 09, 2006 07:08PM Are you just eating leafy greens? I'm guessing that you're eating other things as well, right?
If you are confortable and happy eating 2-4 large leaves per day, then it's probably good enough. I think eating raw foods allows you to absorb more of the nutrients and vitmins than if you ate cook foods. Of course, you could probably survive without eating greens, providing you're getting enough from other sources (which doesn't seem to be hard when eating raw). Cheers, Ian. Re: How many greens?

Date: October 09, 2006 10:41PM Hmm, well I'm 75% raw (I started about a month ago). I meant raw leafy greens when I said greens (kale, collard greens, chard, etc.). I also recently stopped taking a multivitimin. I asked this question wondering if 2-4 leafy greens per day would have enough vitimins and minerals for a person to live healthfuly. Date: October 09, 2006 11:54PM Well,
If you heard of or read the book Green for Life by Victoria Bountenko Her two kids (daughter Valya & som Sergei), Husband Igor and herself started struggling on rawfoods after over ten years . So she and family began incorporating a lot more greens with astounding (at least that's what she writes in her book) results. The book mentions how they began drinking green smoothies (1 quart I believe,) and eating more leafy greens. Why Vegan? Because I have the most love and admiration for all animals of the earth!!! a rawvegan hopeful, rawdev4life!!! Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
