does anyone else love to wrap up their food to eat with their hands? any recipes out there? I am making tomatoe/onion/parsley ones, as soon as I can find my teflex sheets for the dehydrator! what one can do, all can do... Jade Re: Vegetable Leather

Date: October 09, 2006 01:28AM I don't even know how to make a fruit leather! I imagine the the recepis for veg leathers would be the same for the fruits, especially for like tomatoes as botanically they are fruits. Edited 1 time(s). Date: October 09, 2006 03:31AM Hi,
The closest thing I've seen to that would be a spinach tortilla that Cafe Gratitude makes. I'm not sure what's in it, but it's just like a regular tortilla, but maybe a little weaker. I've tried to recreate that recipe, but so far I've only manage to make spinach crips/chips and a big mess. I will try again sometime, and post my results to the board if I have any success. Cheers, Ian. Re: Vegetable Leather

Date: October 09, 2006 08:08PM Right, because you would think if you dehydrate vegetables then you would end up with kind of crunchy crumbly stuff...hmmmm...well, I am going to try tomatoe based and see what happens. I did end up leaving my mixture in the fridge because I can't find my teflex sheets, and the pulp separated from the water quite a bit, so that was good.
Please let me know if you come up with a recipe that works for other stuff... what one can do, all can do... Jade Re: Vegetable Leather

Date: October 10, 2006 03:27AM I've done really yummy tortillas out of ground up fresh corn. I used corn with no seasonings, but you could use salt and a little lime juice and jalapeno to spice it up. I just blended the corn into a batter, spread it on pastry paper and dehydrated it. Wonderful. Re: Vegetable Leather

Corn tortillas were my favorite food before raw, filled with enchilada stuff. Thanks! what one can do, all can do... Jade Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
