All this last year nearly every orange i bought was either grossly sour .. or dry or tasteless or not juicy at all

really disapointing

last week i got these oranges (i only bought two of them boo hoo !) that i could smell from 6 feet away ...

they were amazing !! sweet .. juicy ..3 seeds per segment ... delicious .. i didnt even care about the seeds .. i spitooeyed them with joy ..

oh how i wish id bought a hundred of them ! <3 <3

now i just need to get my hands on some more ! grinning smiley

I agree. I was thinking of contacting some juice companies and asking about the oranges they use. Seed of life.

Its becoming hard to really know what real fruits and vegetables taste like, we get a little taste of them but really how much flavour and nutrients can produce pack when they are flown 10 thousand miles around the world. Even then the local produce i pick up is often wilted and worse than the stuff flown in from Eygpt.

It really annoys me at the moment, the bell peppers look like plastic play toys.

I feel for you. Things are looking up around here a bit, but I am learning to do more with less. Delving pretty deep into the wonderful world of herbs too.

Im with the herbs too mate, just that the bulk of my food comes from produce and its often horrible and plastic looking at the moment.

Sometimes im not sure the bananas and bell peppers are toys lol. Ok not that bad but its not far off.

Spanish clementines are usually fantastic at this time of year, Jodi--hope you can get them where you are.

In a couple of months, it will be blood orange time, and I will be in transportive ecstasies like St. Theresa of Avila every day!

If you are serious about a raw diet or passionate enough you really need to move closer to California. Even in Colorado I was getting very good vegies. I am blessed here in florida with a great market every sunday. Florida generally has @#$%& for vegies eccept for WFM but they suck to most of the time. Indoor growing is the future I think. I am to sick to do anything about it but I urge everyone to get involved and help make it better. The government who has alled us to be so sick should be subsidising all organic farmers and eliminating more and more toxins in the enviroment.

Bell peppers are hard to grow. I only know one person who grew their own green peppers successfully. I wish I knew their secret.
