I love this! It boggles the mind that they had to use the word 'butt' because 39% of Americans didn't know what their colon was! eye rolling smiley ((facepalm))

My aunt worked in the hospital at one time, she said they have to use the words P00P and P33 because people don't know what a bowel movement or urination means. Seriously.

I doubt those billboards are going to go unchallenged. Remember when the entire beef industry sued Oprah Winfrey? Laws have since been put into place to prevent the disparaging of meat eating...

WY, I think you may have unwittingly hit upon something: the same people who don't know what a vegan is, won't know what a colon is because theirs is not in use!

Let's see what comes of this; I find it impossible to believe there can still be people who don't know that processed meats cause cancer or are bad for you. They know--they just don't care.

My son watches a cartoon called "Johnny Test" (itself a spoof on the old Johnny Quest) in which a villain known as Dark Vegan appears. Not the most flattering way to get the word around, but a spoof is a spoof (Darth Vader).

Tam, I don't think people know at all. How many times have you heard someone say things like "if it wasn't good to eat, they wouldn't be allowed to sell it."? An otherwise intelligent friend said something like this to me just the other day. He views my choosing not to eat meat and dairy as mentally disfunctional. I'm not even into the whole "peppers are a nightshade and garlic is too stimulating" realm, I just don't want to eat meat and dairy but even that he considers sick. Seriously. He says the government has declared those foods healthy so They Are. WTF.
