Are Raw, Organic Nuts Raw Live Food?

Date: October 16, 2006 05:52PM is the debate about nuts still ongoing or is there no issue anymore?
i thought nuts are not live foods because they are cooked at high temperatures. what about raw, organic nuts? someone help me out? thanks Re: Are Raw, Organic Nuts Raw Live Food?

Date: October 16, 2006 06:13PM You can get raw nuts in the bulk section of your grocery.
If you sprout them then they're certainly "live". Almonds are not heat treated to deshell. Walnuts and pecans generally are so it's best to get them in the shell and deshell them yourself (it's fun!). Flaxseeds and sunflower seeds are also raw and will sprout. this is why i get confused, because i wonder what will happen down the line if i stay 90% nut or 90% veggie or 90% fruit i always wonder which is better but maybe they are all good.. is a high nut diet bad? as long as one is exercising daily the good fats in nuts are alright right? As long as the nut and seed can be sprouted, it is alive. However, nuts and seeds can die without being heated, they just could be too old to be viable. All nuts and seeds have been dehydrated so they don't mold. As for the high nut diet, there aren't soo many people I know who have succeeded long term on that diet. However, there have been members on this forum who have eaten an entire jar of nut butter each day. Re: Are Raw, Organic Nuts Raw Live Food?

Date: October 20, 2006 03:58AM I always thought one was suppose to eat no more than a handful of nuts per day because they are hard to digest. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
