olives in salads

Date: April 17, 2012 06:16PM Lets see. I like to eat 8 to 10 large olives in salads. Yeah, they have salt! But what? If I like them, wouldn't I lose more if I did not eat them? Olives are not perfect, but they make my salads perfect.
Are olives the new American drug to be studied by new age doctors who sell books, or is it paranoia? Re: olives in salads

Date: April 17, 2012 06:19PM I always try to get organic, if not raw olives. I always rinse them before putting them in salad (if they're soaked in sea salt... but not a huge deal!).
They are the most mineral-dense fruit there is. Olives are MAGIC! <3 Re: olives in salads

Date: April 17, 2012 07:48PM well spoken, a few pitted kalamata olives that have been rinsed thoroughly are an excellent addition to any salad and as a whole food far better than olive oil.
Whole foods are better in general than extracts. Add some edameme, dulse flakes. Experiment with your orchestra Panchito. I like the metaphor. Re: olives in salads

raw and unsalted, and nothing added according to the label. if the label is accurate. they do not list salt and do not taste salty then again, maybe it's salt you're after...i don't know Re: olives in salads

$13 for me at HFS price competitive? they're worth $50 ok, i'm a bit over the top on these. anyway... should be on website - i think they are peruvian. black are they good? they are unbelievably good, rich and pure tasting. i don't have them very often as they don't fit with my program. Date: April 17, 2012 09:01PM Best olives ever = Bariani kalamatas. They don't even sell them in stores or on their site, I found their booth at the SanFran farmer's market when I lived there while pregnant. I could eat a half jar of them daily and then drink the oil, goodness. My son is in love with olives now, go figure, ha ha. Re: olives in salads

Date: April 18, 2012 12:45AM Olives are one of the foods that I began to like six months or so into my alternative food experience, although I didn't like the black ones. Now however, that too has changed haha. Re: olives in salads

Date: April 18, 2012 01:09AM I always hated olives until I had raw ones. I, like Fresh, prefer a salt-free diet, so I don't have them often. I have some "raw" ones in my frig right now but they do have salt, so they just sit there in the jar. LOL Maybe I'll make someone cooked food dishes with them. Re: olives in salads

If I had an alternate supervillain costume I could transform into, I think it would be Olive Fiend. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
