MSM made from animals!

For over a year now, I've been drinking Omica Organics plant-derived MSM mixed with water as an anti-inflammatory. I recently received a new shipment from them and found the words "vegan," "natural," and "plant-derived" had been removed from the label. Instead it says "non-petroleum derived," and in new text on the back it notes that "[MSM IS] a naturally occuring sulfur compound found in many living organisms." So it's not from plants, it's not vegan, and 'living organisms' are highlighted on the label.

One of the selling points of this MSM was always that it was made from plants, and not from oil as other MSM's supposedly are. But now all signs indicate it is made from animals, and Omica shipped this out without even changing their website, or, apparently, alerting any of the suppliers at raw vegan websites that they need to change their product info. I'm switching brands, this is really disgusting!

Several pages of Google yielded further non-updated citations touting tree based cellulose as the source. However, there was this; scroll down to the "Where Does MSM Come From" paragraph :

This is just me conjecturing: pine trees may be in short supply these days, but not so dairy cattle sad smiley

Thanks for posting, wild-aloe.
