night sweats

Maybe this is just a coincidence, but...

I started delving into this raw business about a week ago. I've sprouted some mung beans, soaked some almonds, and drizzled cool hemp oil over many of my foods. I'm aiming for 50% raw right now, just to get the ball rolling.

Buuut... since the beginning of this week, I've been waking up in the middle of the night a lot (not uncommon for me) with wicked night sweats (pretty uncommon). Sometimes I'm literally SOAKING.

I doubt very much that this has to do with eating more raw veggies and fruits. So I'm wondering if maybe something is wrong with the mung beans, or perhaps my nuts/oil is rancid. I don't know what it is like to encounter rancidity---is it obvious in a food, or more subtle? I don't feel weird AFTER eating, but my body is definitely trying to get rid of something at night.

It is just a coincidence.
In most cases night sweat is a positive symptom of healing.
You are lucky to heal a more or less serious problem you
didn't even realize. If you are interested go to

Rancid food will taste and/or smell, well, rancid. If you can taste if a food is stale, then you should have no problem detecting rancid foods.

Of course, if you take the approach that, for any food, if you don't like the smell taste, don't eat it, then you'll not have to worry about eating rancid foods.

Someone once told me that night sweats are related to hormones.

take that for what you will.

night sweats and hot flashes are often related to hormones and/or menopausal symptoms.

This could also be a sign of your body detoxing.

What do you think it is?

Try going to a site on Traditional Chinese Medicine and look for "deficient kidney yin".

I would recomend getting some litmus paper and testing your ph. I have learned that if I am too acidic, I am sweating, if I am too alkaline, I am cold and don't sweat. Just another suggestion. Everyone else mentioned some good things too.
