Gluten Free

Hi all

Just wondering if anyone else on this forum is gluten free and vegan? I am curious if people are just eating fruits and vegetables or are some eating rice/quinoa? I dont think that is considered "raw". Please be patient with me, I am new and still learning.

peace
Michele

do the best you can,
it can take time,
don't let yourself feel deprived

quinoa and buckwheat may be better than rice
there's some sprouted buckwheat products out there too

Nope, I eat more sweet fruits than vegetables. About 75% of calories from sweet ripe fruit and the rest green leafy vegetables, non-sweet fruits, nuts, and seeds. smiling smiley Nom nom! At least a lb. of greens per day. I get bananas by the case. It's a high-carb, high-energy lifestyle. I am very active.

I'm also gluten-free vegan. I have Celiac's disease. I do some cooked but have recently come to appreciate raw kale.

PM me if you want more info as this forum is confined to raw vegan. Thanks. Therese

I like your name! It makes me smile. That is excellent. I hope my body adjusts soon. I am really active as well, are you pretty thin also?

I'm slim but muscular. No one could ever call me accurately "skinny." Pretty much all of my muscles are defined, from my arms, shoulders, back (upper, mid, and lower), abs, thighs, calves, etc. I hope that helps. I'm an endurance as well as strength athlete.

Perfect. Sounds like you take care of your body/mind.

I am lean as well, but since I cut down on alot of calories, I am thinner than before. I do alot of yoga, but also cardio. Not a fan of weights anymore like I was before. My whole perception has shifted in the last two weeks. However, my hot yoga classes are pretty intense. Also, I noticed how defined my muscles are with doing yoga... I used to laugh when people would tell me this, and now I am addicted to it. However, I need my aerobics or I am miserable.

I think I fall below the calories so I need to watch it. Also, this is my first semester in my phd program which mentally is exhausting.

Yeah, it's not unheard of for some of us to get 3,000 to 3,500 calories per day..... :/ It keeps the energy up and the weight steady. Kudos to you, I think all of this hard work will pay off in the end!!! We are definitely glad to have you on board!!!

I eat quinoa and buckwheat raw, when sprouted they are yummy and often invaluable in recipes plain as well as dehydrated. Btw both are gluten-free (though for some types of quinoa this might be questionable).
