Does fruit ever go bad in the refrigerator?

When I put a ripe mango in the fridge it will last another 2 weeks usually. Is it still a good mango though? Do the sugars turn to alcohol?

Still smells and tastes good but I feel like the cold temperature is masking something.

Have you cut it open and seen what it is like inside?

if u start stumbling into chairs or falling over tables
u might have a problem
but if that's not the case
enjoy your mango

also, unless you have a machine that sucks ethylene from produce ( like they have in most big store chains... so their fruit can last longer.. cuz ethylene is naturally outgassed from most fruits and ripens other fruits around it including itself) i see nothing "lost" by putting it in the fridge

probably lasts longer that way

if u have an unripe mango and want to have it ripen naturally
put it outside in the sun

tastes much better
but if you want it to last longer

put it in the fridge

The minute a fruit is ripe it starts loosing nutrients even in a fridge. Fruits are not eternal. [www.rawfoodexplained.com]

It's so much better than no mango at all!!! - if it still tastes good then eat it with relish - although personally I would want to bring it to room temperature first (bearing in mind that I live in the UK and do not want chilled food for 11 months of the year - or even 12 months)
